Mini Soccer 2017 Windup and Season a Blast of Fun!

Rain showers and clouds couldn’t keep more than 500 hundred Mini Soccer players, coaches, and parents from attending the fun-filled annual Mini Soccer windup. With the bad weather looming, organizers made a quick decision to move  the festivities inside, which did little to dampen people’s spirits.

Kids had a blast enjoying various activities including face painters, two inflatable bouncers, two dog shows by Diamond Disc Dogs, and even a small soccer net setup for kids to take shots.. The gymnasium was filled with kids enjoying their free lunch and bouncing and playing in the inflatable bouncers.

Diamond Disc Dogs, put on two shows during the day and proved to be  a very popular attraction. Large crowds gathered to watch the dogs catch discs in mid-air, perform flips, and other exciting tricks. Several kids got to joinin the fun, holding up a stick for the dogs to leap over.

Seven year old Mini Soccer player Isaac Akadiri enjoyed both the windup and the season. “I liked the dog show the most and I liked that other players would pass the ball,” he said.

Deji Akadiri, Isaac’s dad, reflected on the season, “I liked seeing coaches bring players of different levels together and seeing improvement from beginning of the season to the end of the season. I enjoyed being able to bond with my son twice a week taking him to the games.”

Parents Chris and April Vukovich, whose 4 year old daughter Chevella, also played, said “She had a good time and really enjoyed herself. She loved that she was able to be on the same team as her friend. The coaches were great with the kids and really well organized.”

Jared Neufeld, Dakota CC’s Mini Soccer organizer, said “It was a great season. It was great to see so many family and friends watching the games each night throughout the season.  The mini soccer experience provides a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to get outside, get involved and join in the fun! .”

A big thank you to all the parents, coaches, players, field maintenance staff, and volunteers for a great season, hard work, and dedication. All your hard work paid off!
