Bubble Soccer, Hot Dogs, and More!

On Saturday, June 23 over 300 parents and kids came out to enjoy and partake in the 2018 Mini Soccer Windup for lunch, fun, and games.

The day began at 11:00 am and ended at 2:00 pm.

Attendees enjoyed the outdoors in the open field situated in front of the Dakota Fieldhouse and behind College Jeanne Sauve.

“We were lucky weather wise,” says Jared Neufeld, Fieldhouse Coordinator, who helped plan and co-ordinate the windup event with co-worker Melissa Larter. “No rain and only sun so we were able to keep the event outside this year.”

Plan B had been put into place with the Sportsplex gymnasium ready to use if rain clouds formed.

Jared adds, “By being able to keep it outside we were able to take advantage of a wide open space for various activities and games.”

This gave kids the chance to enjoy an obstacle course, a bouncy castle, Bubble Soccer, a juggling/circus show, and face painting.

To help keep kids energized, along with their parents, they enjoyed a hotdog, chips, and drink.

“Overall the consensus from the parents and kids was that they enjoyed themselves and the windup gave them something to look forward to over the weekend,” says Jared.

The 2019 Mini Soccer season will begin next May.

We look forward to bringing you another exciting, fun-filled season!
