COVID-19 Safety Measures

Dakota CC Limited Opening - Updated April 28 2021

With the latest updates to the provincial health orders, new policies have been established. These have been marked with the  icon below. These are in effect as of April 28, 2021 until May 26, 2021 (or further notice). Guidelines shown on this page reflect the latest changes to provincial health orders. For full terms and conditions of each part of our facility, click the link next to the name for the most up-to-date information.

Facility Hours (Expanded Weekend Hours)

DCC facilities will be accessible during these times for limited programs and usage (see below for current availability)

  • Monday - Friday: 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
  • Saturday - Sunday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (starting March 6, 2021)

Everyone must enter and exit using the Dakota Fieldhouse entrance.

Facility & Program Availability

Important: Please read prior to arriving at Dakota Community Centre

The following areas of our facility will be available for use during our open hours:

Track area (Fieldhouse Mezzanine level) [Click here for Track Area Terms & Conditions]

  • Individual workouts only. Maximum 35 people at one time.
  •  Members must maintain a distance of 9 feet from others (no spotting permitted)
  •  Some equipment will not be available in order to maintain proper distance between members.

Weight room (Sportsplex lower level) [Click here for Weight Room Terms & Conditions] 

  • Individual workouts only. Maximum 8 people at one time - advanced signup required.
  •  Members must maintain a distance of 9 feet from others (no spotting permitted)
  • ​ Some equipment will not be available in order to maintain proper distance between members.
  •  Number of people allowed in the Weight Room per time slot will be limited to 8 and time slots will be reduced to 70 minutes.

Indoor rink rentals [Click here for Ice Rental Terms & Conditions]

  • Maximum 10 players + coaches per half ice at one time.
  • Training/drills/practices only - no games.

Fieldhouse courts [Click here for Fieldhouse Rental Terms & Conditions]

  • Maximum 10 people per court (using 1/6 court system)
  • Training/drills/practices only - no games.

Pickleball [Click here for Pickleball Terms & Conditions]

  • Maximum 10 players per section (two courts) permitted.
  • Play spots must be reserved online using this link:
  •  Players not actively participating must maintain a distance of 9 feet from others.

Group Fitness Classes [Click here for Group Fitness Terms & Conditions]

  • Spots must be booked online using this link:
  • Participants to maintain 9 feet distance between themselves and others before and after class.

Note: We are also working to re-introduce limited fitness & yoga classes and Pickleball shortly and will be sharing further details as soon as they become available. All other programming and services remain on hold until further notice.


  • Everyone must read and follow the instructions on the screening sign. 
  • Everyone must have a face mask and keep it on even during their activity.
  • Disinfect hands before proceeding to activity areas.
  • Indicate to staff what activity you are here for (at the entrance desk)

Mask Policy In Effect

Everyone will be required to wear a mask while visiting Dakota Community Centre.

  • Children aged 5 and younger are not required to wear a mask, however one is recommended.
  • Anyone requiring a mask can request one for $1 at the Fieldhouse Reception Desk (while supplies last)
  • Masks must be worn during all activities.

Accompanied Participants

  • Limit 1 parent/guardian per participants. Parents/Guardians must remain in designated areas and maintain physical distancing from other parents/guardians.
  • Participants permitted access to facility 15 minutes before scheduled start time and must come prepared for activity (except for helmets and skates). Parents/Guardians should enter prior to the start of the event and leave immediately after to reduce the risk of groups congregating indoors.
  • Facility supervisors may approach and request for you to leave the premises once your activity is over.

What's Not Available?

The following programs and activities will not be available for use during this time and remain on hold until further lessening of restrictions allows:

  • Open Gym
  • Public Skating
  • Older Adult Programs
  • Birthday Parties
  • Meetings
  • Socials
  • Adult Hockey League
  • Multipurpose space rental (contact Rae Vincent below as some may be allowed within current restricted capacity and social distancing)
