A special thank you goes to Board Chair Cory Shangreaux, who shared an inspiring report highlighting the year’s achievements and the strong foundation being built for the future.Highlights from the Board Chair’s ReportHere are just a few of the many accomplishments Cory celebrated on behalf of Dakota CC:A renewed mission and strategic directionThis past year, the Board and Senior Leadership updated our Strategic Framework, introducing a refreshed mission:“A gathering place for all, fostering social connection and excellence in recreation and sport.”The new strategic plan focuses on four pillars—Place, People & Culture, Purpose, and Partnerships—guiding us into the next three years of growth and community impact.Major accessibility and facility investmentsA number of infrastructure improvements were completed, including new accessible seating and building modifications in both rinks.Expanding hockey and ice programmingWith the addition of Tyler Riel leading our Hockey & Ice Programs, Dakota CC launched new initiatives for all ages—such as the popular U7 Learn to Play, an expanding youth 4×4 league, new skill development programs, and our second annual Youth Hockey Winter Classic Tournament.A year of community spirit and involvementVolunteers and staff hand-delivered nearly 9,000 copies of our Fall/Winter Community Magazine during the Canada Post strike.Our beloved Christmas Market celebrated a successful expansion into the Fieldhouse, hosting nearly 150 vendors and welcoming close to 5,000 attendees.Exciting momentum is building around our Arena & Recreation Centre Expansion Project, including plans for a new 750-seat arena, childcare centre, fitness facilities, improved food services, and more.On behalf of our Board, leadership, staff, and volunteers, we extend our sincere gratitude to every community member, partner, and supporter who helped make this year such a success!Visit our Board of Directors page for the full Board Chair’s Report and more information about each director.
