Whether you’re a returning player or interested in joining a ladder for the first time, we look forward to welcoming you!Important: Joining a group ensures you’re included in invitations to upcoming sessions. Email dakotapickleball@gmail.com.These events are not managed by DCC Staff.Pickleball Reservation PolicyAfter listening to our Pickleball participants, and evaluating reservation and attendance patterns, Dakota Community Centre identified the need to establish a policy related to cancellations and no shows for Pickleball Drop-In. While improvements in the cancellation practices of participants were observed following regular reminders, there remained a high volume of late and last-minute cancellations, and no-shows. This was frustrating for both participants and staff, and limited the number of people that accessed our program.Our reservation cancellation policy goals include:Allowing those who wish to fully commit to reserving a spot to use SignUp to do so;Encouraging those who are not fully committed to their reservation to remove it from SignUp in advance; andFacilitating first-come, first-served use of any unreserved spots by allowing participants the opportunity to view available spots the night prior.Reservation Cancellation Policy (effective Monday, February 10, 2025):Pickleball participants using SignUp are required by DCC to use both their first and last name, along with a valid e-mail address to reserve a spot in SignUp.SignUp opens for reservations at 8:00 p.m. on a rolling basis, two weeks before the day of play.SignUp closes at 8:00 p.m. the night before the day of play. No additions or subtractions (changes) to reservations are permitted after this time.Any unreserved spots are available on an in-person, first-come-first-served basis on the day of play. The number of unreserved spots is visible to participants by checking SignUp after 8:00 p.m. the night prior to play.Participants who do not show up for their reservation will have one pass use deducted from their pass. Participants who do not hold a current, valid pass and do not show up for their reservation will have the cost of one drop-in Pickleball visit charged to their account (and will be required to pay this balance before subsequent participation).Between February 10 and March 31, there is a grace period in which #5 listed above is not in effect. Instead, participants who do not show up for their reservation during this period receive a courtesy e-mail message delivered via SignUp. Effective April 1, 2025 this grace period will be over and the policy outlined in points 1 to 5 above will be in full effect. It is participants’ responsibility to ensure they are aware of the policy by this date.We appreciate your cooperation and understanding of this important aspect of our Drop-In Pickleball Program.
