Lazers Hockey Club - U7 Learn to Play program is designed as an alternative to the Timbits Hockey Program. We ensure a positive experience for new-to-hockey children and families. We want to take away any intimidation as it relates to rules of the game, remove potential safety concerns, and most importantly, provide an experience that is memorable and fun for all.

  • Thursdays from January 9, 2025 - February 27. 2025

  • 3-4 on ice coaches

Players will be divided into 3 teams. Each hour, 2 teams will play a cross ice 3 on 3 game, while the third team is at the other end receiving skill development instruction. The skill development instruction will focus on team tactics covering skills that coaches wouldn't have time to get to throughout the season. The teams will rotate every 20 minutes. Each team will receive 20 minutes of skill development and 40 minutes of 3 on 3 every ice-time.

Spring Break Day Camp - U9-U12

Looking for something to do during spring break? Register for Lazer Hockey Club’s unique week long day camp! Participants will receive 10 hours of ice throughout the week (2 hours a day).
 
Each day will have a different theme:
  • Monday: Power Skating and Edge Work
  • Tuesday: Defenseman Day
  • Wednesday: Shooting and Scoring
  • Thursday: Stick Checking and Body Position
  • Friday: Game and Ice Awareness
The camp will also include an introduction to dryland training as well as an introduction to other sports throughout the week. The goal of the camp is to expose our future hockey players to the different aspects of the game and to help them become well-rounded athletes.
 
Drop-off: 8:00am - 8:30am
Ice Times: 8:50am & 2:30pm
Pickup: 3:30pm - 4:30pm

Tyler Riel
Director of Hockey & Ice Programs

Tyler is the visionary behind the Lazers Hockey Club, bringing over 15 years of coaching experience to his role as Director of Hockey. With a strong commitment to developing young athletes, Tyler has achieved certification at the HP1 coach level, equipping him with the skills to nurture talent at all stages.

Before taking on the role as Dakota’s Director of Hockey, Tyler played a pivotal role in shaping the Louis Riel School Division Hockey Program. Now at Dakota Community Centre, he is dedicated to creating an environment of inclusion, growth, and excellence within the club.

Under Tyler’s leadership, the Lazers Hockey Club is poised to elevate youth hockey, ensuring that every player receives the support and guidance they need to reach their full potential.
