Since opening its doors in 1987, DCC has grown alongside a rapidly expanding community—now home to thousands of families who play, learn, connect, and thrive through sport, recreation, and community programming. Today, DCC stands as one of Winnipeg’s most active and inclusive community hubs.Arena and Recreation Centre Expansion ProjectDCC’s Arena and Recreation Centre Expansion Project is a bold, future-focused redevelopment designed to serve the next generation of families, athletes, and community members. The vision includes:A new, fully accessible 750-seat community arenaExpanded childcare and indoor play spaces for 50+ childrenA modern fitness centre connected to the Dakota Fieldhouse172 additional parking stalls and improved site circulationA welcoming new community café to replace the existing 30-year-old canteenAll renderings and images are artistic impressions provided for illustrative purposes only. Without new infrastructure, families are left with fewer opportunities to play, train, and connect close to home. What’s Next — and How to Get InvolvedIn the months ahead the design process will include opportunities for comprehensive public consultation, which will help shape the design and ensure the project reflects the needs and aspirations of our community. Opportunities for community engagement will be announced as planning progresses.DCC will continue working closely with community donors, partners, and supporters to complete this transformative redevelopment.
