BVRA Centralized Registration for the 2017-2018 Season

Over the past several months, Dakota Ringette and the Bonivital Ringette board members have spent considerable time working with our partners (the Community Clubs of: Southdale, Dakota, Winakwa, Glenwood and Greendell), to amalgamate our ringette programs.  The goal is to provide better competition throughout our age groups and divisions.  This is a huge undertaking which Dakota Ringette, and the BVRA board, has embarked upon.  For the upcoming season, Dakota Ringette along with BVRA, will launch Phase 1 of our amalgamation initiative by centralizing registration via an on-line process.

Registration and payment will commence August 26, 2017 and will run until September 5, 2017.  Please follow the ringette registration link which will be active on our website during this period, or go directly to the BVRA website http://www.bvraringette.ca/

As we continue to work with our community club partners regarding amalgamation, subsequent phases will be announced and rolled out to further enhance the experience of playing Ringette in Bonivital.

Further information can be found on the BVRA website http://www.bvraringette.ca/

2018 Power Smart Manitoba Winter Games

Ringette is very pleased to be part of the 2018 Power Smart Manitoba Winter Games, March 4th to 7th 2018.  Our sport competition will take place during Phase 1 of the Games, all games will be played in Thompson, MB.

The Power Smart Manitoba Winter Games are the Province’s largest ongoing multi-sport event.  They are held every two years, alternating between summer and winter sports and involve upwards of 1800 participants at the provincial level who are selected from thousands of others at qualifying events across the Province in the year leading up to the event.

The 2017 Games will be open to U14 girls (Eligible birth years: 2004 and 2005) – U14AA players are not eligible. Each region will select one team from all registered age eligible players.  Those who are selected to represent their region will then compete against top players from all the other regions in the Province where they will be able to showcase their skills and talents in a multi-faceted, multi-sport environment.

Ringette Manitoba will field six (6) teams in total, one team from each rural region (North, South, East, West) and two teams from Winnipeg.  The two (2) teams being formed in Winnipeg will be split as Winnipeg East (River East Ringette, Transcona Ringette and Boni-Vital Ringette) and Winnipeg West (Southwest Winnipeg Ringette, St. James Ringette and North Winnipeg Ringette). Sport Manitoba has redrawn their boundaries creating the new regions North, South, East and West.  The new regional map and more information is available on the Sport Manitoba website. Players must play for the regional team where they reside, not the Ringette Association they belong to.

Ringette Manitoba will be holding regional camps for all eligible players who are interested in trying out for their regional games team.

An initial set of ice times will not be tryouts, they will be two 1 hour skill sessions to help the players develop their abilities prior to tryouts. The first set of tryouts will be held in the fall, with the second set being held in December. Players wishing to attend the tryouts MUST attend at least one of the two assigned skills sessions. Any players who do not attend the skills sessions being offered now will not be eligible to attend tryouts.

We are unsure at this time if the AA teams will be announced prior to the registration deadline. We recommend that all interested players at the U14 age register regardless of whether you have tried out for AA or not. Once U14 AA team formations are confirmed we will adjust the registrations and registration fees as needed.

Applications for the skills sessions are online, payment must be completed for the application to be accepted. To access the registration please Click Here

Ice times for Winnipeg East will be as follows:

Group 1 - May 24 5:30pm and May 30 6:45pm

Group 2 - May 22 7:15pm and May 30 5:30pm

Group 3 - May 29 5:30pm and May 30 8:00pm

All ice times will be held at East End Arena. The cost of this skills camp will be $30.00

Registration deadline - May 18th, 2017

Once all registrations have been received you will be informed of the group you have been assigned to.

If you have any questions, please contact Melanie Reimer, 204-925-5713. More information can be found on the Ringette Manitoba website

Refunds will only be accepted with a doctors note, there will be a 25 % admin fee on all refunds. (This does not apply to AA Team formation conflicts).
