How to reserve a spot in class.

Find Space
Locate the green 'Sign Up' button for that class. Button will state it's FULL if there are no more spaces.

Confirm Identity
Enter your email address to continue then confirm your name and phone. We may need to contact you in the event a class is cancelled.

Reserve Your Spot
Select the number of spots and click 'Save and Done' to reserve your spot.

Note: if you need to cancel the spot you reserved, you can do so from the SignUp.com button above, clicking on the blue 'My Spots' button and then 'Remove'. Alternatively, you may call our Customer Service desk at (204) 254-1010. Please cancel your reserved spot at least 24 hours in advance so that we may offer the spot to another participant.

Spots will be available to reserve on a month-by-month basis and will become available on the last Thursday of the month for the next month.

Barre
Blends elements of ballet, Pilates and yoga creating a unique workout that focuses on building strength, flexibility and balance through graceful low-impact movements. Cardio & Strength
Ignite your fitness journey with our Cardio & Strength class, a high-energy workout designed to boost your heart rate and build muscle through a mix of aerobic exercises and resistance training. Perfect for those looking to challenge themselves, this class will leave you feeling empowered and ready to conquer the rest of your day!
Chair Cardio & Strength
NEW! A low-impact workout that combines cardiovascular exercises with gentle strength and flexibility training, all performed while seated in, or supported by, a chair. It’s ideal for active adults, people who have had hip or knee surgery, participants concerned about their balance or anyone that prefers a seated workout.
Chair Yoga
A form of yoga that adapts the poses to be done while sitting on a chair or using the chair for support. Ideal for people who have limited mobility, injuries, balance or joint issues.
Gentle Flow Yoga
A soothing practice that encourages relaxation and stress relief through gentle, flowing movements, deep breathing and often with longer held poses. Perfect for all levels, this class invites you to unwind and connect with your body in a peaceful, supportive environment.
Growing Stronger
Tailored to enhance vitality and functional fitness, focusing on gentle cardiovascular and strength-building exercises that improve balance, coordination and daily living activities. It’s a supportive and encouraging environment where active adults can progressively build their physical capabilities and confidence at their own pace.
Hi-Low Strength
An easy to follow, low impact class designed to strengthen the cardiovascular system, tone muscles, boost balance, flexibility and endurance. Weights, bands and mats are used.
HIIT
NEW! High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is a dynamic workout method that alternates short bursts of more intense exercise with brief, lower intensity, recovery periods. Participants can work at their own pace and will maximize calorie burn, improve cardiovascular fitness and boost metabolism.
Line Dance Level 1
NEW to our group fitness schedule! This class introduces basic steps in short sequences of easy patterns and rhythms in the simplest way possible. There will be lots of repetition. If you have never line danced before or just started, this class is for you. Basic skills, easy choreography, easy dances. FUN for all!
(Beginner)
Line Dance Level 2
NEW to our group fitness schedule! Some previous experience necessary. Dancers are expected to know basic steps. Dance and choreography are a little more difficult than our beginner class, and music may be faster with connecting steps. Dances may increase in length, complexity and tempo from Beginner dances.

Line Dance Level 3
Coming October 1st!
For experienced line dancers with a solid knowledge of steps and terminology.  Choreography will be more complex introducing some interesting step combinations, syncopations, timing variations and styling.  Expect dances with more step counts, multiple turns, tags & restarts—mostly improver & easy intermediate level. Class will appeal to those ready to challenge their line dance skills, learn the newest dances, and re-visit some of the classics.

Restorative Yin Yoga
Relax and unwind, candlelight included. An all-levels class designed to relieve stress and tension while stimulating deep muscle release and reflecting inward. Nourish body and mind with this transformative combination of restorative and yin yoga.
Restorative Yoga
Perfect for those seeking to reduce stress and restore balance, offering a nurturing environment to rejuvenate the body and spirit. Use of props to support poses, while gently stretching and strengthening your body.
Total Body
Experience the ultimate workout with our Total Body group fitness class, designed to engage every muscle group for a full-body challenge. Whether you’re looking to tone up, build strength or increase endurance, this class offers a comprehensive approach to fitness that will leave you feeling strong. Weights, bands and mats are used.
Total Body Circuit
Our Total Body class with a twist! The same great workout you’ve come to know in our regular Total Body class, but moving through a variety of stations including cardio, strength and core. Consistency and variety, all in one class.
Yin Yang Yoga
A blend of movement and static postures promoting flexibility and strength. The sequence builds heat energy to target connective tissues, joints and the nervous system and helps release tension in the body, promoting flexibility and strength.
Yoga Flow
Energize your body and mind with our invigorating Yoga Flow class, where movements seamlessly link breath into motion. This dynamic class is designed to improve strength, flexibility and balance offering a harmonious blend of challenge and serenity that’s perfect for all levels.
Zumba
A vibrant and exhilarating workout that combines Latin-inspired dance moves with calorie burning cardio. Perfect for anyone looking to spice up their fitness routine, this class is a fun-filled way to tone your body and boost your mood in a high-energy, party like atmosphere.
Zumba Toning
Dance and cardio workout that combines with muscle conditioning to improve strength, flexibility, coordination, hip mobility, and increase endurance while toning your body. Light dumbbells are used while you get your groove on and get strong.

Most classes provide necessary equipment such as weights, stability balls, resistance bands and exercise mats.  Participants in yoga, Barre and Pilates need to bring their own yoga mat.

Yes, we ask all participants to reserve their spot in class. It is important to know how many participants we are expecting, to reach you in case any adjustments need to be made to the class, and to ensure your spot is reserved in the case class reaches capacity.

Click the SignUp.com button above to reserve a spot in one or more of our Group Fitness Classes then follow the steps below:

  1. Scroll to the date on which you would like to attend a class - click on the class name to view the location & instructor name.
  2. Click on the green 'Sign Up' button for that class.
  3. If it is your first time signing up with us, you will be asked to enter your email address. Select 'Continue' and then 'Confirm'.
  4. Enter your first and last name (required).
  5. Enter the number of spots you are reserve, i.e. 1 spot (required) - if reserving a spot for more than one person, please reserve the spot with their name, 
  6. Enter your phone number (optional) - we may need to reach out in case of any cancellations otherwise we'll send you an email!
  7. Select 'Save and Done'.

Our senior-focused group fitness classes are specifically designed to cater to the unique needs of older adults, offering a safe and supportive environment to stay active and healthy.  Chair Yoga, Gentle Fit, Growing Stronger and Zumba Gold classes promote functional fitness, mobility and social interaction that can help increase a senior’s confidence to age at home. 

 

Sessional programs span several weeks and a participant pays for all these classes upfront.  Sessional classes allow for progressive skill development over time.  Group fitness classes attend at their convenience without a long term commitment.  Payment is on a per-class basis.

 

  • All of the fitness instructors at Dakota are certified with the Manitoba Fitness Council and do have the experience to help modify classes, however Chair Yoga and Gentle Fit are done from a seated position.
