GROUP FITNESS PROGRAMS

Staying fit doesn't have to be difficult. We're offering plenty of fun and engaging fitness programs this fall.

Zumba Gold (Thursday)

This class introduces easy to follow Zumba moves at a lower intensity that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to sweat and be prepared to leave empowered and feeling strong!

Dates: September 30 - December 16, 2021
(no Zumba Gold on November 4, 2021)
Time: 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Location: Sportsplex Gymnasium
(October 21st class takes place at the Sportsplex Great Hall (2nd Floor))

Chair Yoga (Tuesday or Thursday)

Ease pain and tension in your body brought on overtime by everyday stress and use. This class will focus on breathing, balance, flexibility, and range of motion.

 PACE (People With Arthritis Can Excercise) (Monday)

A program developed by the Arthritis Society for people with different types of Arthritis or related conditions, such as Fibromyalgia or restricted mobility. Gentle movements to improve balance, strength; and flexibility to help you move easier in daily activities. Please bring a 6-7 foot stretchy band and soft squeezable little balls.

 Simple Pilates (Monday)

A great program to strength your core, improve body awareness and prevent back injuries. Please bring your own mat, a block or beach towel and a stretchy band 6-7 feet long. Bare feet or socks.

Growing Stronger (Wednesday)

Growing Stronger is a strength and balance class that will help you regain muscle and keep it strong. This program is ideal for those wishing to improve their strength, cardio and balance. Strong muscles, bones and better balance will help make you more mobile and less likely to fall.

Let's Move! Let's Dance! (Monday)

A fusion of Latin and international music and rhythms such as Cha Cha Cha, Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Disco etc... This class is a great way to burn calories, improve coordination and balance. Please bring dancing or indoor shoes or runners with smooth soles.

Tai Chi (Thursday)

Explore and deepen your health and wellness through the gentle and restorative practices of qigong and taijiquan from the Yang family lineage of tai chi. Each class will include a full-body warm-up to loosen the joint systems and relax, stretch and strengthen the muscles and tendons to facilitate the flow of vital qi through the body. Emphasis will be placed on alignment to develop strong balance and posture.

WELLNESS & EDUCATION CLASSES

Master that iPad, learn effective safety tips or just relax and learn to paint exciting portraits - the choice is yours!

 Acrylic Painting (Tuesday)

This class is great for those who want to learn how to paint or to take their painting to another level. No painting skills are required. We will be creating an acrylic painting of your choice from start to finishing during the 11 weeks. Each week we will learn different painting basics, different techniques and how-to's, product knowledge and artist's tricks. Acrylic painting supplies are included but we encourage you to start outfitting your basic painting kits. You are welcome to work in any other medium you wish during this class. After taking these classes, you'll have the fundamental skils you need to puck up a paintbrush and create your own works of art.

Minds in Motion (Tuesday)

Minds in Motion® is a 2-hour weekly fitness and social program for people living with early to moderate symptoms of dementia to enjoy with a family member or friend. Participants engage in gentle excercises followed by fun activities that stimulate your brain. COVID-19 protocols are in place as your safety is our top priority.

 Technology & You (Friday)

iPad / iPhone Class (Friday)

Students will learn how to get the most out of the Apple iPad, including using apps, gesturing, customizing the home screen, typing, adding content, using settings, as well as troubleshooting common device issues and setting up iPad security. Plus, there will be some helpful tips and tricks to better use your device.

DROP-IN WELLNESS PROGRAMS

Our drop-in programming this fall will offer relaxing card games or line dancing classes. Whether you want to relax or get a little active, there's something for everyone, plus you'll get to meet some great people!

Keep your mind sharp, have fun, and satisfy your need for a little friendly competition by joining us for some Cribbage & Whists; or other card games.

Absolute Beginner Line Dancing (Wednesday)

Designed for those NEW to line dancing. Good class for those who just started last year and are not ready to move up. Introduction to basic dance steps. Easy dances, lots of repetition and fun music.

Dates: September 29 - December 15, 2021
(no Line Dancing on October 20, 27 & November 17 & 24, 2021)

Beginner Plus Line Dancing (Tuesday)

This class offers more dances, more choreography, and more variety than Absolute Beginner. Knowledge of the basic line dance steps is expected. There will be a wide range of music. Faster tempos and more steps encourage you to think and respond quickly.
