Scholarship Awards for 2021

We're proud to offer $500 Scholarships annually to qualified youth who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the Dakota Community Centre.

Eligibility requirements, required documentation, and submission deadlines are noted below. 

Note: There is no application form required to be completed for submission.


To provide annually, up to a maximum of three, scholarships of $500 each towards post-secondary education for Dakota Community Centre Inc. members who have demonstrated strong volunteerism, a commitment to club activities and sport, leadership, and academics.
The number of scholarships, up to a maximum of three, to be offered each year will be determined by the Dakota Community Centre Inc. Board of Directors.


i) Must be a member of Dakota Community Centre Inc.
ii) Must have graduated from high school within three years of application deadline
iii) Must be enrolling full-time in first year of a post-secondary institution (please provide a copy of your acceptance letter)
iv) Must have demonstrated a commitment to Dakota Community Centre Inc. within the last 2 years
v) Must have maintained a 70% average in final year of high school
vi) Must meet admission standards of the educational institution specified documentation.


i) A written submission documenting the significance of participation in Dakota Community Centre Inc. as a sport participant and volunteer in the applicant’s personal development (This can be in the form of a letter to the Scholarship Selection Committee)
ii) Letters of reference bearing a current date from two non-related individuals
iii) A transcript of marks for the last completed year of education or current year to date
iv) A detailed sports involvement history covering all aspects of the applicant’s sport activity as a player, coach, official, and volunteer

Selection Process

i) Applicants will be reviewed by the Dakota Community Centre Inc. Executive Committee, as appointed by the Board of Directors
ii) The Executive Committee will make recommendations to the Board of Directors
iii) Decisions by the Board of Directors will be final

Administration of Awards

i) Applicant must provide evidence of acceptancefor full-time enrollment at a post-secondary institution for the current academic year
ii) Applicant, upon notification of award, must provide final year transcript prior to award disbursement
iii) Applicant must provide a copy of receipt for payment for full-time enrollment at a post-secondary institution for the current academic year prior to award disbursement
