WINTER PROGRAM LISTINGS
With a successful reintroduction of fall older adult programming, we are looking to continue strong with winter programming and have therefore updated the program information below with what's on offer. GROUP FITNESS PROGRAMS
Staying fit doesn't have to be difficult. We're offering plenty of fun and engaging fitness programs this fall.
CHAIR YOGA
Ease pain and tension in your body brought on overtime by everyday stress and use. This class will focus on breathing, balance, flexibility, expanding range of motion and increasing strength through various gentle and fun excercises.
Please note: It is recommended that participants bring their own yoga strap and a set of yoga blocks to each class in order to maximize their ability to fully participate in the class.

GROWING STRONGER
Growing stronger is a strength and balance class that will help you regain muscle and keep it strong. This program is ideal for those wishing to improve their strength, cardio, and balance. Strong muscles, bones and better balance will help make you more mobile and less likely to fall.
Please note: Advanced class incorporates and extensive cardio workout routine for the cardio loves and Beginner class incorporates 10 minutes of cardio.

LET'S MOVE! LET'S DANCE!
A fusion of Latin and international music and rhythms such as the Cha Cha Cha, Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Disco etc... will get you moving to a great beat. This is a great way to burn calories and improve coordination and balance.
Please note: Please bring dance or indoor shoes or runners with smooth soles.

P.A.C.E. (People with Arthritis Can Excercise)
A program developed by the Arthritis Society for people with different types of Arthritis or related conditions, such as Fibromyalgia or restricted mobility. Gentle movements to improve balance and strength; flexibility to help you move easier during daily activities.
Please note: Please bring a 6-7 foot stretchy band and soft squeezable little balls.

Simple Pilates
A great program to help strengthen your core, improve body awareness and prevent back injuries.
Please note: Please bring your own mat, a block or beach towel and a stretchy ban 6-7 feet long. Bare feet or socks during class.

Tai Chi (Wu Style)
Explore and deepe your health and wellness through the gentle and restorative practices of qigong and taijquan from the Yang family lineage of tai chi. Each class will include a full-body warm-up to loosen the joint systems and relax, stretch, and strengthen the muscles and tendons to facilitate the flow of bital qi through the body. Emphasis will be placed on alignment to develop strong balance and posture.

Tango .png)
You don't need to be a Tango dancer to benefit from this 3-part series technique workshop. The workshop will explore tango music, the tango walk and the embrace. We'll also focus on fundamentals such as body alignment and posture, balance and coordination, turning and pivoting techniques, and body awareness through specific tango excercises.
Please note: There are a total of three classes scheduled for the season. The cost includes access to all three. Please bring appropriate footwear (dance shoes, slippers and/or shoes that allow you to pivot (spin/turn) easily without sticking to the floor.)

Zumba Gold
This class introduces easy to follow Zumba moves at a lower intensity. The focus will be on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to sweat and be prepared to leave empowered and feeling strong!

Minds in Motion
Minds in Motion is a program designed for people with early to moderate signs of dementia to attend with a family member or friend. This weekly program offers 8 sessions including: a gentle chair fitness class followed by engaging activities and conversation.

Painting
Great for beginners or painters alike. Learn how to paint or to take your painting to another level. No painting skills are required! We will be creating an acrylic painting of your choice from start to finish during the 10 weeks. We will learn different painting basics, different techniques and how-to's, product knowledge and artist tricks. Acrylic painting supplies are included but we encourage you to start outfitting your basic painting kit. You are welcome to work in any other medium you wish during this class. After taking these classes, you'll have the fundamental skills you need to pick up a paintbrush and create your own works of art. Already been to our class or know how to paint? Join us anyway!

We come together to breathe, to let go of tensions, to quiet the mind and to open the heart. We will explore various breatching techniques, guided and silent meditations, and gentle movement to encourage release of tension in body, mind and spirit.

Learn how to use your device! This course covers everything from initial setup to using apps & more. Have all your questions answered in this course.

This class is for the iPad and Iphone users tht wish to learn advanced techniques on how to get the most out of the Apple iPad, including using apps, gesturing, customizing the home screen, typing, adding content, using settings, as well as troubleshooting common device issues and setting up iPad security. We'll also go over some advanced tips and tricks to use on your device. Dates: January 21, 2022 - March 25, 2022 |
This sessions is all about how to get the most out of the Apple iPad. The goal is to gain a better understanding of the device including using apps, gesturing, customizing the home screen, typing, adding content, using settings, as well as toubleshooting common device issues and setting up iPad security. To Fall Or Not To Fall .png)
This three part series of presentations will highlight various aspects of fall prevention including definition of a fall, managing the environment, the role of medications, how to get up if you fall and assisting someone up who has fallen. Each session will consist of discussion, question and answers and practical excercises to help you stay on your feet.
